Founder

Heather Poundstone has been a teacher since 1998.  She felt called to education reform almost from the beginning.  Heather has had favor to speak to the media and politicians and has been part of overturning some unjust laws that have been enforced over the years.  She has won awards, been featured in videos, articles, TV, and social media.

Heather has been leading a group of educators, Reclaim Education Now, and mentored by national leaders in making education great again!  Reclaim Education Now hosts events to reform education and create education alternatives for children.

Education reform is necessary for the future of our country.  Several education policies need to be implemented.  Unions, teachers unions primarily, have promoted and supported democrat politicians with billions of dollars, passing anti-American policies that have negatively impacted our entire nation, not solely education.

We are working with teachers across the country with legal resources to help teachers have a change of representation. California is also pivotal to our nation’s success.   A coalition of Californians are working to support political candidates to make California great again.

Heather's Accomplishments-

  • She  won three grants for her school libraries- The Laura Bush grant twice and the Lisa Libraries grant.  San Jose State University announced her grant award on their social media page.
  • She won the first annual Teacher Librarian Advocacy Award from the LAUSD teacher librarians.
  • United Teachers of Los Angeles Vice-President Arlene Inoye recommended her for the Los Angeles County Library Board.
  • LAUSD Teacher Librarians selected her to be the LAUSD teacher librarian representative for the National Library Legislative Days in Washington D.C.
  • She emailed and met with many stakeholders/politicians regarding education reform including district, state, and national leaders.
  • She has had the privilege to do the same with Rebecca Friedrichs of For Kids and Country who has been her mentor since 2022.
  • The LAUSD superintendent featured her in a district video as the teacher librarian district representative and retweeted her teaching students research skills.
  • She served as union vice-chair and social committee chair for her school and teachers wanted her to be their union representative. (She has since left the union as she has been educated as to how they have ruined education and American policies.  See this website for more information on this- https://www.forkidsandcountry.org
  • She was instrumental in getting a new principal at her elementary school.  This school became a blue ribbon school four years later!
  • She has three masters degrees- education, library science, and school leadership.
